The General Foreman is responsible for the organization and management of projects while implementing measures to ensure timely completion, safety standards, and quality-of-work expectations are met. This position will cover the towns of: Bloomington, Peru, Peoria, Decatur, and Quad Cities.
Review and implement contract documents, including plans, specifications, schedules, and estimates.
Be responsible for crew foreman, carpenters, and laborers’ daily production.
Coordinate job site work with sub-contractors ensuring deadlines are met.
Hold responsibility for crew foreman, carpenters, and laborers’ quality of work
Drive safety standards to prevent injuries. Timely and accurate reporting is required for instance injury does occur.
Be a problem solver who answers crew foreman, carpenters, and laborers’ questions quickly and accurately.
Meet regularly with the Project Manager, Crew Superintendent, and Subcontractor Foreman to drive project timeliness and quality. Log meeting minutes.
Strengthen existing relationships and build new relationships.
Provide assistance to acquire quality level crew foreman, carpenters, and laborers.
Train and grow existing foreman with labor-saving ideas.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Experience as a General Foreman with a minimum of three years of experience constructing post frame buildings.
Ability to supervise and manage 4-5 Crew members.
Ability to meet customers and the public well.
Be responsible, conscientious, dependable, and accurate with details.
Have the minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and have the ability to maintain DOT specifications.
Must be able to climb and maintain balance at heights up to 30’. May be required to lift, carry, handle, push, or pull up to 75 pounds several times a day. The considerable physical effort of hands and arms required.
Weather: Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
Flexible Schedule: May be asked to start work early or work late as schedule demands.
Risk of Injury: Injury exposure could be severe cuts and bruises. Risk of falls. Must work in overhead structure and beneath and around power machinery. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports directly to the Project Manager and is scheduled by the Project Manager.
